Eligibility
Eligibility for membership to SUPA Only charities meeting specific tests of fiscal accountability, governance, and programmatic impact may participate in the Support Africa. To participate, an organization must: 1. be a UK registered charity, Company Limited by Guarantee or a voluntary community organization based in the UK; 2. be a registered NGO/CBO in Africa; 3. provide services in at least one foreign country over the three-year period immediately preceding the application; 4. commission an annual audit by an independent certified public accountant that is prepared using generally accepted auditing standards; 5. provide a signed copy of the most recently completed Annual Report; 6. be governed by an independent board of directors, the majority of whom serve without compensation, and 7. clearly demonstrate that it has provided real services, benefits, assistance or other program activities in Sub-Saharan Africa and, in some cases, for African refugees and immigrants in the UK.
